I finally found some larger bubble wands for the kids so they could get more for their efforts and it has been the best thing. They all enjoy this so much and we get alot of bubbles blowing around! Bubbles are such an easy and magical form of entertainment...for kids of all ages. I know I enjoy it just as much as they do. It gives me a chance to spend time with all of them in a way that involves us all, playing, working, andinteracting with each other. I find that it's quite difficult at times to find activities that are suitable for me to get that result. Often times I have to do different activities with them on different levels while one is sleeping, doing homework, or playing independently. With this I don't have to worry about timing or who is going to be bored while I make sure I get time in with this one. This takes all that away. They never tire of it and neither do I and I know my kids are enjoying the time with me and each other.

Pirates and Princesses and Tigers! Oh My!
Messy, messy, messy!
This is what "cheese" is all about!
Welcome Jesse and Dylan!
I am proud to say that the members of the Owen Party each have an upgraded status. Aunt, Uncle and cousins! Although, Kevin and I are Auntie and Uncle to some of our friends kiddos it's still fun to have acquired the title by relation. Jesse Darrell Davis, 4lbs 5oz 18in, and Dylan James Davis, 4lbs 7oz 16.5in, were born on July 16, 2008 at 1700 and 1712, respectively. They finally got to come home on August 7th, I believe for having reached the 5 lb mark! Congratulations to my step-sister, Kate, and her husband Jason on their new little bundles. And, of course, congrats to my Dad and Kelley, the proud grandparents, for being such their fourth and fifth times over. Aren't they so cute and ittle wittle. So far it sounds like all is well for the new family of four as they adjust to sleepless nights and exhausting days. Captions came from my step mom, Kelley, when she sent the pictures to me and I thought they were cute so they stuck. CONGRATULATIONS Kate and Jason!
Update on Kevin
YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!
Cute Kiddos
Keep an eye out for my next couple of posts to come. One will be of Kevin's pictures in the desert (I just have to make sure I am allowed to post them) the other will be of my new little twin nephews...I'm finally an Aunt! Thank you all for being patient with me and my craziness.
The Landon-meister!
Dude, I'm good to go
Okay now. I mean come on. Can he just stay like this forever? Landon is beyond cute and adorable. He is such a lovable kid. My goodness where do these ones come from? He has grown 2 inches in the past three months. He's just sproutin' up like a weed. Landon is really starting to talk so much more. I think he picks up a new word every day. He gets a little 'tude sometimes, but instead of being annoying it's tremendously adorable. He cracks me up. Just today he was in the playroom and I called him into the kitchen. As he came around the corner I jumped out at him and said "rah". He kept going forward as he looked over and jumped at me and went smack on the ground and he just got up laughing. We had each other cracking up! He's a funny guy. Always telling jokes and laughing and smiling. I can't believe he's my baby. My last one. I just want to stop time with my kids. Just stay small a little longer.
Cora the destroya!
Miss funny face
A little Starlet
My Cora...is she ever a beauty. She is just talking so much and she uses a lot of "supporting" or detail words. She won't just say "Where's my cup" it's always with description "Where's my green froggy cup with the scratch on it?" I laugh every time. She, too, is growing up just a smidge too fast for me. She is nearly potty trained. She only has about one small accident a day where she doesn't quite make it to the "big" potty, and she is still in diapers at night. However, I don't think she will be much longer because she either stays dry or goes potty in the middle of the night. She can be so girlie at times and so not at other times. She LOVES millipedes. She names them and calls them her babies. I find her playing with them in the house or she'll stop and pick them up on our way to the car. Doesn't matter...if she sees them she is all over them. She absolutely adores horses and ponies. I love that about her. She is constantly asking me to play "warsies" with her. -sigh- What am I going to do with her.
Noah at his best!
I can't believe how much he is growing up! :o( It's slightly disheartening. Noah-bug is such a character. He has so much compassion, yet, he's so stinkin crazy too. He truly is an all-around guy. He has lots of friends at school and does really well. He comes home with plenty of homework, but he does a really great job at it. He is smart as a whip, man. His vocabulary is vast and he will use a new word in context within a couple of times of hearing it used. I like to use big or seldom used words with him just to hear what he sounds like when he uses them. He is like a sponge with words (thus the whole cussing incident). He sounds super cute when he says 'indeed'. He's my big man growing up too fast.
From the mouths of babes
So before I go and add the photos from the past couple of months to update everyone I have to start with today. I just can't pass this up! First of all I am proud to say that I have a very smart 1st grader. Noah can read and write so well. He had a wonderful Kindergarten teacher and I have to take credit too, as conceited as that may sound. I love reading and I love reading to and with the kids, so naturally that is one of the subjects he excels at the most. ANYWAY, Noah decided to use the "f" word today. Don't be pointing any fingers...all I have to say is we live on a military base. I had to laugh (to myself) because he used it in context "Noah what are you doing at the window" "mama, I'm trying to get this bleepin
Oh I know...it's about time!
Things are going fairly well this deployment, if you don't count the fact that we all miss Kevin so much, considering. I think we are, unfortunately, so used to him being gone that we find it easy to slip into a hearty routine. The kids all have their moments, but they are dealing quite well with all that is being thrown at them. Noah has had a couple of emotional "breakdowns," this time, and just out of the blue starts crying for his daddy. It's so heartbreaking but I can get him to recover fairly quickly with wonderful words about his daddy and such. Cora is so funny about it. I know she misses him but not in the emotional way that Noah does. She'll ask "where's daddy?" and then answer her own question with "he's at the store." There are other similar questions with answers along the same lines, but then there are times when she goes one step further and (as if arguing with herself) says "no he's in da desert." It's so hilarious and she cracks me up everytime. Landon....now he's the one that you don't expect much out of other than the crankiness in the beginning from the feeling of change. But I do see something in him. He likes to talk to Kev on the phone, and he will sit at the desk and stare at his picture on the screen for several minutes at a time. Other times he will be sitting with me when I turn the monitor on and say "hi" or "hewo dada" or "ees dada." It's so stinkin cute.
The kiddos are growing too fast and I just want it to slow down. I don't want Kevin to miss anything and I don't want to miss things myself. I just can't keep up with all their little quirks and cute phrases. I mean come on already. But such is life with little rascals running around.
I hope you all enjoy the udate and the pictures, however few at a time, I upload and feel free to comment and gripe and moan about my laziness all you want. I won't take it to heart. And sorry this is such a long blah-bity-blah. Phew!
A girl's mishap
Okay so the first picture was taken yesterday (Jan. 10th)....isn't she beautiful with her bangs growing out and I can finally clip them back....yeah, COULD should be the operative word here. As of today (the 11th) she found the scissors and discovered she would rather have her bangs short again....really short. AHHHHHHHH!!! Not to mention the fact that she got a fat lip at the playground this morning. And obviously the last picture is after I did the best I could to repair the damage that had been done. So now I have her saying "I'm a heewbiwwy" (I'm a hillbilly) She doesn't even look the same. She's still so beautiful, but I guess I'll have to wait just a little longer to grow her bangs out. (Thank goodness the rest of her hair was in a ponytail...only God knows what would have happened if it had been down.) Enjoy, and I hope my little hillbilly girl tickles your tummy with a good little, or hearty, laugh.
